An appointment where one of our friendly dentists will thoroughly examine your mouth, including soft tissues. We will then discuss the conditions that are present, and provide treatment options to sort these problems out. Regular checkups every 6 months can ensure problems are caught early so that they don’t progress to larger problems, which usually involves pain, and much more expensive treatment.
Most people will have a buildup of calculus or tartar in certain areas in the mouth. While it directly won’t cause decay, it creates many areas where plaque can hide making it difficult to clean, which will lead to decay. Once this calculus has hardened onto the teeth, a professional clean is necessary to get it off. A 6 monthly clean while having a check-up will ensure that the teeth remain free from large buildups of calculus, and ultimately a lot healthier.
General dentistry describes standard procedures done by most dentists and usually involves treatments like fillings, root canals, and simple extractions.

Having wisdom teeth removed can often be a difficult treatment. Erupted wisdom teeth can usually be removed without great concern, however often they are not fully erupted. When teeth are impacted, and/or partially erupted, they may require surgery. If patients are happy to have these procedures done under local anaesthetic, our experienced dental surgeons can often complete this treatment at the surgery, conveniently saving you a 2-3 hr trip to have it done. There may be an indication for referral to a specialist particularly if there is nerve involvement around the roots, or if the patient wishes to have the procedure done under general anaesthetic. If you’re concerned about your wisdom teeth, or need to have them out, book a consultation with one of our dentists, who can explain your options and answer your questions.
